Johns Monroe Mitsunaga Koloušková, PLLC (JMMK) has focused its practice on land use and real estate development, transactions and advice, capital projects, construction, and related litigation.  With over 100 years of combined legal experience, we have handled a variety of legal matters ranging from numerous residential subdivisions, golf course and mixed use development, real estate transactions involving significant development projects, contractual and property disputes, private and public capital construction contracting and disputes, along with damage claims and other challenges regarding disputes with public agencies.

Our litigation background is considerable with both jury and non-jury experience in the trial courts of the State of Washington and the Washington State Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.  We have also litigated numerous judicial challenges regarding land use approvals in the trial and appellate courts.  We have worked on a wide variety of governmental related litigation, dealing with such matters as inverse condemnation and eminent domain actions.

Our Philosophy

Our size and focus is a source of great pride to us.  We do not have the typical overlay of bureaucracy, the need to train associates at client’s expense, or endless committee meetings that only add costs, not value, to our clients.  Rather, we take a team approach with our clients with a primary attorney taking the lead and others assisting as needed.  This allows us to work quickly and proactively to solve rather than exacerbate a legal problem confronting our clients.

We are result oriented and work closely with our clients to adopt a flexible strategy that is in line with their objectives so that they can move forward expeditiously and with minimal disruption.
